Quantitative Research Analyst - Boston
Job Description

The successful candidate must be interested in a small company environment where they will be exposed to many aspects of the investment process, including investment research, portfolio management and implementation, performance reporting, and investment education.  They will work closely with accomplished investment professionals to support the institutional research, consulting, and asset management process.  This is an entry level position for someone with 1-5 years of experience.

 

  • Implement advanced algorithms for asset management
  • Support high level consulting projects
  • Participate in investment committee meetings
  • Empirical financial and economic research
  • Trading and monitoring of portfolio accounts
  • Participate in management of model portfolios
  • Research sources and applications of financial data, investment vehicles and their characteristics; perform comparative analysis, present it to the investment committee, and make recommendations.
Skills
  • Strong quantitative skills
    • Programming experience with implementation of statistical techniques in Matlab/R/Python
    • Familiarity with other scripting and programming languages
    • Demonstrably superior analytical problem solving
    • Ability to produce high-quality research independently
    • Experience with Excel, financial databases and quantitative research is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to explain quantitative concepts
    • Excellent presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to keep detailed records
  • Willingness to learn
Education B.A./B.S. or higher in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Operations Research).
